            As the UK adapts to post-Brexit regulations, businesses trading internationally must adapt their cross-border operations.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Phase 5 of the New Computerized Transit System (NCTS) came into effect on July 1, 2024
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            and significantly changed transit declarations. Please be aware of further changes before January 2025, when all CTC countries will need to migrate to NCTS5.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           The Windsor framework is another significant achievement. Recent procedural changes include the introduction of direct checks on sanitary and phytosanitary (SPS) goods, with further changes planned by 2025. The Simplified Process for Internal Market Movements (SPIMM) will be fully operational from September 2024.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Significant changes have been introduced to transit, as well as a complete redesign of the transit declaration itself.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           We assure you that we are ready for this change and would like to inform you about some changes regarding mandatory data.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           • EORI number
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           • Commodity codes (mandatory from January 2025)
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           • In-depth cargo descriptions
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           • Gross weight
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           • Multiple home deliveries
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           • Seal numbers
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           What happened
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           We are aware that there are many vehicles waiting at IBF. This is due to the creation of Local Reference Numbers (LRNs) in NCTS Phase 4 which were not issued before the move to Phase 5.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           These movements cannot be issued by customs officers in Phase 5 because the message structure in Phase 5 is different from the old structure in Phase 4.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           What you need to do now
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Declarants who are not authorized consignors whose vehicles must present at an IBF or border facility for the customs agent to release the goods cannot send any vehicles to the border with LRNs created in Phase 4.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           If you have a declaration created in Phase 4 that has not yet started its journey, you will need to resubmit that declaration in Phase 5. Your declaration will not be processed until you do this.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           If you have a driver on the way to the IBF or border facility, with an LRN created in Phase 4, you must cancel them and ask them not to go to the IBF or border facility until you create a new LRN in Phase 5 and hand it over to them.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Please note that all vehicles arriving at an IBF or border facility with an LRN created in Phase 4 will be turned away from that location and asked to return once they have an LRN associated with the declaration filed in Phase 5.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;

              After the first phase of new controls on sanitary and phytosanitary (SPS) goods from January 2024, more adjustments are implemented this month. According to the government’s decision, there will be introduced documentary and risk-based identity and physical checks on medium-risk animal products, plants and plant products origin from the EU. The same process will be applied to high-risk food and feed of non-animal also coming from the EU.

             In China, today, September 29, 2023, is the Mid-Autumn Festival, or Mid-Autumn Day, also known as the Moon   Cake Festival. Is it the second largest holiday in China after Chinese New Year. It was so named because it is celebrated on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month, which in China always falls in the middle of the autumn season. Celebrating the moon and enjoying the beauty of the full moon on this day has been a long-standing Chinese custom for centuries.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            The festival time is mainly associated with the movement of the Moon, which symbolizes brightness and softness and brings joy to people.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            People see the Moon as God's testimony about themselves. This harmony of man and nature shows the unique emotions of the Chinese. The moon is the most charming on this day. People make mooncakes from grains, which have become the most important food of the Mid-Autumn Festival.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Legend associates this story with a hero named Hou Yi, who lived at a time when there were 10 suns in the sky. Hou Yi shot down nine of them and received an elixir from the Queen of Heaven that made him immortal. Instead, his wife Chang E drank the elixir and flew to the Moon with her beloved pet - a rabbit. In hopes of reunification, Hou Yi has since then prepared mooncakes every 15th day of the 8th lunar month.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           Since then, people all over China have been praying to the Moon and Chang E for good luck on this day, good harvest, and happiness.

             Full customs control between the Great Britain and the EU are now in place, meaning customs declarations and any applicable tariffs must be paid at point / prior to entry into the UK. However, this will not affect the payment of import VAT if your business is VAT registered.
          &#xD;

  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
           A disturbance level is expected as a result of the change. Failure to provide the correct documentation means that the goods cannot be cleared through customs and will not enter the UK market. There can also be disruptions caused by the system infrastructure in ports that previously did not deal with customs and border control.

    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;

            HM Revenue &amp;amp; Customs has introduced new system called GVMS to resolve the issues.

             From 1 January 2022, drivers who bring any goods into the UK via Dover, Eurotunnel or Holyhead are required to use the 'check to check' service before disembarking the ferry.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            To use this service, drivers or the haulier manager must register with the Goods Vehicle Movement Service (GVMS) before boarding the ferry and make sure they have a Goods Movement Reference Number (GMR).
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            To register for GVMS and get a GMR go to gov.uk/using-goods-vehicle-movement-service. You would need to use the "Attend an Inland Border Facility" online service to tell HMRC which IBF you are coming to. When an inspection message is displayed, the driver must visit the IBF office as soon as he leaves the terminal.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;

            The GVMS allows you to link the multiple declaration references together in one GMR, so that the driver moving goods needs to provide only one reference number, GMR at the border.

  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
             All movements, including empty vehicles and containers, through the GVMS border location must have a valid GMR. Without it, the driver, vehicle, and goods will not be allowed to board. All drivers must ensure to have all the information and documents that will need to present when arriving at the IBF.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
             Traders will no longer be able to delay the submission of customs declarations. They will have to make a full customs declaration or simplified declaration, if authorized, before moving their goods if they use ports operating system or GVMS.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
            Some changes are also made to sanitary and phytosanitary (SPS) controls. All POAO and ABP shipments must be pre-notified on Imports of Products, Animals, Food and Feed System (IPAFFS). If you haven't already, you'll need to register with IPAFFS. You must pre-register your shipment on IPAFFS, at least four hours before arriving in the UK. This agreement will be valid until June 30, 2022.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
      
            The customs declaration submitted for goods must be in "arrived" status in order for HMRC to know that the goods have arrived in accordance with your customs declaration.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;

            Currently, EU hauliers can only collect or drop off goods in the UK twice a week. According to the new proposals, they will be able to do it for an unlimited period of time for up to two weeks.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
           The UK government is trying to ease the rules on the number of deliveries truck drivers can make in the UK in an attempt to unblock a bottleneck in the country's supply chain.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
            In recent weeks, the government has decided to grant temporary visas to up to 5,000 foreign truck drivers, extending their period until the end of February, and large supermarket chains and retailers are offering bonuses and increasingly higher salaries to encourage employees to join and stay with them. EU-Exit and COVID-19 have worsened an already deteriorating situation, but the current driver shortage has been developing for a long time and the reasons vary from country to country. There is a shortage of truck drivers worldwide. For example, in Europe, it is estimated that the total shortage of drivers now exceeds 400,000. In Great Britain, depending upon sources, there is between 76,000 to 100,000 shortage of HGV drivers. 
          &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
            Opening borders to EU workers may be a short-term solution, but it is not a long-term answer. The first and most important problem is how to make the sector more attractive. Higher wages make it easier to recruit and retain drivers, but this wage inflation, if not affected by higher transport rates, will cause financial problems for the employer. However, more needs to be done to improve the conditions and general working environment of all drivers. The Minister of Roads, Buses and Places, Baroness Vere of Norbiton, wrote a letter to encourage drivers who no longer work in the sector to take this opportunity to consider returning. Many foreign workers leave the sector and return to their homes in the EU, which is why many employers offer training packages, attractive wage rates, flexible work, fixed hours, fixed days, full-time and part-time contracts. 
          &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
            The national shortage of HGV truck drivers has been putting pressure on UK supply chains. For food and beverage companies, supply chain capability is the foundation of an overall competitive package. Supply chain specialists process data, anticipate demand, and plan flexible, efficient delivery at minimal cost. However, in recent months, representatives in the supply chain have reported a constant challenge in meeting their obligations towards their partners due to the lack of truck drivers. This problem is not new, it has developed gradually over many years and became more pressing and violent in the first half of 2021. 
          &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
            Where shipping services do not keep up with demand, costs are likely to increase. Shipping service providers can be expected to charge their customers higher prices, increasing costs for businesses. In the absence of drivers, it is worth ensuring that the vehicles are full, this is best practice but not always possible. Businesses may therefore choose to deliver fewer goods, but this may not suit customers or stores, especially where storage space is a challenge or where there are time constraints. Short-lived goods are most vulnerable to transport disruptions, which may result in an increase in the amount of waste. Another problem is that drivers may be reluctant to work in the evenings or on weekends, which may not suit food and drink industry who are active around the clock.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
            Limited trading flexibility reduces the ability to respond to spikes in demand, leading to a more cautious approach to trading. It is possible to alleviate some of the immediate pressures through targeted action, but repair will require focus and action on several fronts.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;

By following the effective and efficient activities used by them, thus avoiding losses resulting from the risk of introducing unproven changes, thus gaining information from leaders that help the organization improve its functioning in the market.

            This is an ongoing process involving continuous improvement, gaining knowledge, gathering information and its appropriate use in the pursuit of the ideal.

            Thanks to the cognitive process of the best companies and leaders in the world using the benchmarking method, other companies with less competition also have a real opportunity to become leaders if they successively analyse and implement the best companies' solutions to their organization and overcome the incentives and cures for the ideas and achievements of other companies that they significantly exceed their current achievements.

            Types of benchmarking:

      &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
        
            - competitive - consists in comparing the organization with companies from the same or a similar industry
           &#xD;
      &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
        
            - functional - thanks to functional benchmarking, companies can find better, innovative solutions, outside the industry, and can stimulate creativity among their employees.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
        &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
        
            We distinguish the strategic benchmarking, productive, processes and management methods. The benefits that arise from them are the processes that determine, through the adopted strategy, a high competitive position by analysing the development of the organization on the market compared to the best companies, by refining the processes necessary to achieve the goals, success, through the use of advanced technologies, stable prices of products and services that can compete effectively with other companies, comparing them to customer needs, and identifying significant factors that lead to success.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;

            - marketing benchmarking - a type of strategic benchmarking that places particular emphasis on researching and comparing customer opinions in comparison with competing companies
           &#xD;

            - project benchmarking - evaluation of the functionality and effectiveness of the new project in which the company is implemented.

            Thanks to benchmarking, it is easier for companies to predict the actions of their competitors. An important role here is played by competitive forecasts.

It is based primarily on teamwork consisting in joint discussion, analysis and problem solving, goals allowing for better results, better efficiency, involvement of every cell of the entire system.

            As of January 1st, United Kingdom will leave the EU single market. Trade between EU and The UK will be much more restricted.

            The draft trade and cooperation agreement consist below deals:

        &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;

            Free and fair-trade agreement between the EU and other third countries such as Canada and Japan, with no tariffs and zero quotas on all goods, that comply with the respective rules of origin. This is especially important for sensitive goods such as machinery, agricultural and fish products. To take advantage of these unique trade preferences, companies must prove that their products meet all requirements and the necessary "rules of origin”. Border controls will take place between Great Britain and EU Member States. Under the Agreement, customs procedures will be simplified as agreed by both Parties, e.g., mutual recognition of programs for trusted traders ("authorized economic operators"). The controls will apply to all traded goods and both parties will closely cooperate against indirect taxes frauds and recovery of customs duties. Businesses will need to fill in the customs declarations.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            The agreement covers not only trade in goods and services, but also a wide range of other areas of EU interest, such as road, rail, maritime and air transport ensuring a level playing field between the EU and the UK so as not to infringe passenger rights, labour rights and transport safety. 
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            Transport is the main driver of economic benefits in EU-United Kingdom. In 2019, 196.9 million tonnes were moved between UK ports and the EU, increased by 1 % compared to the previous year. The EU is the largest trade partner with United Kingdom. 
           &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
            In addition, the agreement is covering data protection, tax transparency, investment, social security coordination, competition, fisheries, energy, security coordination and state aid.

      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;

         More than 40 countries have banned travel to the UK due to concerns about the spread of a new strain of coronavirus. 
         &#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          Flights from Great Britain have been suspended to territories around the world, including:
          &#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
           Hong Kong, Spain, Greece, India. Entry ban to Great Britain was also imposed by such countries as: Germany, Belgium, Italy, Ireland, Romania, Portugal, Canada, Russia and Switzerland. 
           &#xD;
      &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
        
            Colombia, Morocco, Chile, Austria, Norway, Finland and Argentina,  have also banned travel from the UK. 
           &#xD;
      &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
        
            The list of countries is getting longer and longer. 
           &#xD;
      &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
        &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
        
            Hong Kong suspended all flights from the UK and announced that all recent travellers will be quarantined for an additional seven days - meaning a total isolation time of up to 21 days.
           &#xD;
      &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
        &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
        
            France closed its border with Great Britain a few days ago, which means no trucks or ferries are allowed to leave the port of Dover. 
            &#xD;
        &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
          
             Eurotunnel connections to France are suspended and Eurostar trains to Belgium are not running. 
            &#xD;
        &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
        &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
          &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
        &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
        &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
          
             Royal Mail has suspended all postal services to Europe, except the Republic of Ireland, due to restrictions on air, road, ferry, and rail traffic.
            &#xD;
        &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
        &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
          &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
        &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;

            Drivers are very frustrated with congestion and long lines waiting to enter the Port of Dover. 
           &#xD;
      &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
        &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
        
            EU Member States, previously met in Brussels to discuss the next steps in the Brexit case, many officials suggested that anyone arriving from the UK would require up-to-date testing. The reality of the situation as a driver is whatever documentation they have, they must not leave the UK. The only journey they are going to make is to return to the ever-growing queue. It would mean spending the night and all tomorrow in trucks, going home for the holidays will not be as fast as expected. This is a depressing situation in the run-up to Christmas. And if France insists all drivers must pass testing before crossing the English Channel, some people are likely to miss home for Christmas.

         Thousands of truck drivers need to stand in giant traffic jams on the British border, the main routes in Dover and Calais.

         On the roads to the port terminals, hundreds of trucks are already in massive congestion, which will further aggravate the capacity problem. Same situation is at the UK ports such as Felixstowe and Southampton on

          The La Manche Channel, containers have been piled up for weeks. 
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          There are many reasons for these blockages. 
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          On the one hand, this is due to the delays caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. Many shipments that did not leave in spring collided with new shipments during the summer due to increased demand following the lifting of the blockade in Europe. Currently, these delays reach the peak of the pre-Christmas period. Also, the impending Brexit deadline prompts many companies to try to replenish their inventories ahead of the uncertain period after January 1. 
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;

          The French side also informs about the problems of congestion and an incredible number of trucks on the routes Dover and Calais. Lorries, of which there are about 4,000, are stuck in 40 km of traffic jams.

          Due to high demand, caused first by the economic boom in summer and now also by the peak of trade, transport costs are rising. Container rates reach astronomical prices, and the rate of increase is insane. 
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          Traders say they are still waiting for the goods they ordered back in the summer, and the cost of shipping has increased tremendously due to the problems. Currently, the cost of transporting a container from China to the UK increased by 42%.  A significant increase in transport costs will increase the prices of products in stores.

      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
           From January 1, the situation may worsen even more due to compulsory customs clearance procedures.

          The transitional period after which the United Kingdom will finally leave the European Union ends on December 31st. The border between the UK and the European Union will be much more noticeable especially for freight forwarders, shippers, import and export companies.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          Under the Withdrawal Agreement, the country has now been officially designated as a "third country" by the EU and therefore no longer participates in the EU's decision-making process.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          We still do not know whether a trade deal with the EU will be negotiated or whether it will be a no-deal. However, the situation with most aspects of international trade in terms of VAT and customs is already known and will not change no matter how the negotiations between the EU and the UK end.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          How does it look like now?
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          * B2B transactions (business to business) sales from Great Britain to the European Union.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          For business-to-business sales, the UK seller receives the EU customer's VAT number. Sales are made based on a reverse VAT charge with a zero VAT rate. EU companies include VAT in their VAT returns.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          UK companies also report the EC Sales List (ECSL) and if their imports or deliveries value reaches the threshold values, an Intrastat return is also required.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          * B2C transactions (business to consumer) sales from Great Britain to the European Union. 
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          The UK seller send the goods to a consumer in the EU, i.e. to a customer who does not conduct business. Such sale is treated as sale within the UK itself and VAT is charged at the appropriate UK VAT rates ( 0%, 5% or 20% ), all depend of what the goods are. If the annual value of total sales exceeds the distance sales threshold ( in many EU Member State it is EUR 35,000 ), the UK company must stop charging UK VAT and register in the EU country where the distance selling threshold is exceeded. 
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          * Sales from the European Union to Great Britain,
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          The UK buyer applies the reverse charge to settlements in the VAT declaration - i.e. the opposite situation to that described above.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          What will change?
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          Effective January 1, 2021, the reverse charge, the ECSL (B2B) and the distance selling (B2C) thresholds will no longer apply.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          For both B2B and B2C, the transactions will be subject to a zero rate for exports to the European Union, and the recipient will be responsible for import Duty &amp;amp; VAT. Intrastat declarations will continue to be required by HMRC for statistical purposes.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          Shipments of goods worth less than £ 135 will be subject to sales VAT in 2021, not import VAT.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          From 1 January 2021, the terms as 'shipment' and 'arrivals' will no longer apply to UK businesses, they will be replaced with the words import and export. We will only talk about import and export.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          European companies will be required to submit customs declarations when goods are transported between the UK and the EU. If European companies fail to complete the relevant customs formalities, the goods they transport will not be allowed to cross the border.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    
          The introduction of customs duties for sure will change the competitiveness and profitability of goods imported from abroad.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;

         Will the Railway Silk Road break the hegemony of maritime and air transport?

           In recent years, China Railway has carried cargo along the famous Silk Road line.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;

    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
           The first train with 45 containers from China reached Poland in January. The train covered 9,477 km route and took 12 days from the Chinese city of Xi'an, which is almost 3 times shorter than a traditional sea freight.
          &#xD;

    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;

            Incoterms®

           reflects business-to-business practices in sales contracts and purchase of goods. It is a collection of eleven commonly used three-letter trade terms, e.g. DAP, FOB, etc. 
          
                    &#xD;
    &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
                      
           Incoterms describe the following rules:
          
                    &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
                      
           Responsibilities – who does what between the seller and the buyer, for example, who arranges the shipment or insurance of the goods or who obtains the shipping documents and the export or import license.
          
                    &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
                      
           Risk - Where and when the seller "delivers" the goods, in other words, when the risk shifts from the seller to the buyer. 
          
                    &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
                      
           Costs - which party is responsible for what costs, e.g. costs of transport, packing, loading, or unloading, cost of control or security.
          
                    &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;

            Incoterms®

           rules do NOT apply regardless of whether there is a sales contract, specifications of the goods sold, the time, place, currency of payment, prices, effects of sanctions, tariffs, etc.

           The Incoterms® rules do not define the law applicable to the contract.

           As per above the order of the rules proposed by the ICC has changed. DAT was transformed into abbreviation DPU. The changes also affected the FCA (Free Carrier), where the buyer is obliged to instruct the carrier to issue a transport document to the seller stating that the goods have been loaded (bill of lading with the note "on board"), if this is agreed by the parties. Incoterms 2020 perform modification of the above-described principles and generally adopt a different way to determine the primary current level of insurance.

           Impact of January 2021
          
                    &#xD;

    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
                      
           Goods bought or sold from the EU from 1 January 2021 will be subject to import and export procedures. 
          
                    &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
                      
           This includes responsibility for customs clearance. Details of each Incoterms® include information about who is responsible for customs clearance and payment of duties. 
           
                      &#xD;
      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
                        
            Many terms also include an obligation on one party to assist the other in obtaining certification, security, and customs clearance. 
           
                      &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      
                      
           From January 1, Incoterm® 
will define your duties and obligations of the organizations which you trade with. You need to know the details, so do not wait until January 2021, find out now!

         Brexit impact on the well-being of the UK population is uncertain.

           While the Withdrawal Agreement has been approved by both the UK Parliament and the European Parliament, the possible 'no-deal' outcome is still possible if both sides do not conclude a new trade agreement by 31 December 2020.

      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;

           From the 1 January 2021 the approach to goods transported between Great Britain and the EU will change. It will be replaced by

      &lt;span&gt;&#xD;
        
                        
            export and import
           
                      &#xD;
      &lt;/span&gt;&#xD;
      
                      
           . While a zero grade for exports exists if the right conditions are met, most importantly, the import is subject to VAT and possibly customs duties. This will inevitably increase prices, especially because the ability of importers to buy goods has declined due to currency devaluation. 
          
                    &#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;div&gt;&#xD;

            UK ports could become seriously congested in the coming weeks as they battle on import backlogs from Asia.

            The knock-on effect continues to develop with more and more suppliers withdrawing from service sectors entirely due to tension / complaints, and ultimately causing prices to rise further.

      &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
        
                        
            According to media reports, the UK may face a monthly surplus of goods as major Asian economies begin to recover from their worst COVID-19 pandemic.

      &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
        &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
        
                        
            Industry leaders are evidently concerned about how ports and warehouses will manage the increased volume and they have been already instructed to concentrate firstly on and prioritize medical equipment and food.
           
                      &#xD;
      &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
        
                        
            British ports such as Port of Felixstowe, Southampton and London Gateway have similar issues.

      &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
        
                        
            Hauliers are now responding to these issues, which could worsen the situation of British Asian importers.
           
                      &#xD;
      &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
        
                        
            Some carriers refuse to accept bookings from Asia to the UK, which may result in the UK being skipped on some voyages.
           
                      &#xD;
      &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
        &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
        
                        
            Moreover, it will be a serious challenge to Britain's lockdown and the power of its logistics sector. Lockdowns across Europe have also reduced demand from firms, stores, and manufacturers.

      &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;div&gt;&#xD;
        
                        
            The UK government has a frequent conversation with shipping industry and the ports, and it appears that commercial solutions and technology are currently being explored to meet this challenge.

        &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      &lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
